Welcome to the National Fuel Employee/Retiree Portal
A message from Ron Tanski...
The articles in this edition of National Fuel SOURCE reflect the very nature of our diversified Company. Just as the "People Talk" section highlights the varied nature of our employee's careers, the announcements of new hirings and ongoing retirements reflect that our Company is constantly changing and providing us with new and exciting challenges.
During our 2013 third fiscal quarter, Seneca Resources reported production of more than 34 billion cubic feet equivalent (Bcfe) of natural gas, or an average of more than 374 million cubic feet equivalent (Mcfe) per day. When I started with the Company in 1979, our annual report showed that the Company produced 5.3 Bcfe during the entire fiscal year from its 2,870 system wells. Ongoing improvements in technology have made our entire industry more efficient.
In addition to staying vigilant in our own shop, we need to be aware of today's 24/7 news cycle. With more than 200 cable television channels and countless numbers of radio stations and newspapers, there will always be someone looking to dig up some "news story" to fill air time or space. I encourage every one of our employees to think and "do the right thing" as you represent our Company during your working hours. In addition we want to make sure that you keep up with all necessary safety training, so when you find yourself facing an emergency situation without any time to think, you can automatically follow the correct procedure.
As we head towards fall, everyone is working hard to make sure that our pipeline systems are operating safely and that we're maximizing production from our oil and gas fields. The seasons go by fast, and our engineering staff is already planning pipeline replacement projects for next summer. To the new employees listed in the back pages - welcome; get ready for a fun ride and constant change. To the retirees - thank you for all your years of dedicated work.
