HEAP also provides an emergency crisis grant to HEAP-eligible
customers who have had their utility service disconnected
or are facing disconnection because of unpaid bills.
You must have a final termination notice and meet the
previously stated guidelines.
If this applies to you and you have not yet received
a basic or emergency grant, please go to your local
Department of Social Services or the Office for the Aging.
These grants are provided by New York State through the
federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
and are available regardless of whether you rent or own
your home.
