What
are the requirements to receive Neighbor for Neighbor
assistance?
You may qualify if you are 60 (New York) 55 (Pennsylvania)
years old or older OR you or a member of your household
has a handicap or disability that reduces your household
income OR have a certified medical emergency. Also,
you must reside in National Fuel’s service
territory. However, you do not need to be a National
Fuel customer.
Are there any other eligibility requirements?
Anyone who applies must have made an effort to make
their utility payments, other than those provided
by LIHEAP/HEAP
or other assistance programs.
Customers who are not eligible for LIHEAP/HEAP,
or who may need more than a LIHEAP/HEAP grant,
may be
eligible
to receive Neighbor For Neighbor funds to alleviate
an energy emergency.
How much money can recipients receive?
Each Neighbor For Neighbor grant is determined
by individual need. A maximum amount is set
each year. All grants
go directly to the home heating supplier.
How many grants are allowed per recipient?
In New York: A household can receive only one Neighbor For Neighbor grant during a program year.
In Pennsylvania: A household can receive multiple Neighbor For Neighbor grants during a program year.
How do I apply for Neighbor For Neighbor
Assistance?
At time of interview, applicant
must provide proof of identification, monthly
income and monthly expenses.

New York:The Neighbor for Neighbor Fund is administered by The Salvation Army and sponsored by The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and National Fuel. To apply, contact The Salvation Army at 716-883-9800, extension 230, the Chautauqua Office For the Aging at 716-753-4471, or Catholic Charities at 716-856-4494, extension 3010, to find the office closest to you.
- In
Pennsylvania: Applications for the Neighbor
For Neighbor Heat Fund are screened and grants
are administered by
human service organizations from the 14 Northwestern
Pennsylvania counties.

How Can I Contribute to the Neighbor for Neighbor Heat
Fund?
National Fuel customers can have a tax-deductible donation
of $1, $2, $5 or any other amount, added to their
